IMADR reports on the human rights situation of Japan and India for the Universal Periodic Review

On Feburary 8, 2008, a joint submission on the general situation of human rights in Japan by the Japan International Human Rights NGO Network and 51 organizations (one endorsed after submission), coordinated by IMADR Japan Committee, was made to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for the second session of UPR.

Earlier, on November 20, 2007, a joint submission on caste-based discrimination in India was sent to the OHCHR, on behalf of IMADR, the National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN), for the first session of the UPR scheduled in April 2008.
